If I had to guess, I'd say formations would probably give a relative "rock paper scissors" bonus, maybe similar to the lightsaber forms in KOTOR 2, but then got replaced by gambits. The "axe or sword skills" choice was probably just an early version of when they come up and as to change their goals, not the goal menu where you manually pick them yourself.

Against fast enemies it would be brilliant tho because its not like you're going to double them anyway

In my opinion, Felix is worse than Shinon cuz at least with Shinon, it's never explained why he hates laguz aside from not liking their appearance and human behavior, so it allows us to interpret Shinon's backstory however we want to and we'd probably end up where we are now with him. With Felix, he's so blunt about why he believes in what he believes in that it ruins the illusion of ambiguity for me. I like him a lot better in Three Hopes tbh

I really liked how Fates introduced a second weapon triangle for all ranged weapons. It's a shame this idea was cut short cuz it could co-exist with the 'trinity of magic' triangle with no issue, heck we could even keep the anima triangle and gameplay would be so satisfying.

I really am glad that the game visually turned out as I had hoped on the first trailers... Because Three houses really had a good story but the graphics suffered from so many things, like putting anime-style people into realistic worlds which from a detail look even suffered tremendously from the limited VRAM buffer of the switch... It looked so awful to me... The armor also looked weirdly polished to the point that they could have been mirrors aswell which is a weird choice to give on usually not so polished armor on every random soldier... I could go on really... And I am not so versed outside of reading a bunch and playing around with blender and Unity.

I would've really loved it if instead of getting the Sothis Shield, whenever you used a Fire Emblem Amiibo you could recruit Sothis as an Adjutant like you can with the online visitors.

Thing is, aside from Hilda, he doesn't tell it like it is. "You gotta love yourself before anyone loves you" is proven wrong by both Marianne (unless you don't recruit her and she game ends herself) and Bernadetta, and just a pretty toxic mindset all together. Honestly, I don't particularly feel one way or the other about attempting "Magic Triangle", however I'd seriously advise them to consider copying Final Fantasy XIII's setup and tweaking it a little as a tester format. Because they have very little idea what they are doing with their triangles, and In theory you'd end up with enough unique class variations doing that. For the fun of it, I put an off the top of my head idea for the concept. Sabatour (Traditionally a "Witch/Assassin") - Status Elements (e.g Poison, Blind, Petrify, Slow, Hex/Charm, etc) leaning into Mag, Dex and Spd. Dark Warrior (Traditionally a "Dark Knight/Mage") - Combat Dark Magics (e.g Ultima, Life Steal, Venom Strike, etc) leaning into Str, Mag and Def. -Filling in Dark Medic/Healer (Traditionally a part of "White/Light Mage") - Healing Magic (e.g Heal, Revive, Rescue, Regen, Purify, etc.) leaning into Mag, Res, Spd. Battle Priest/Priestess/Monk (Traditionally a of "White/Light Mage") - Combat Light Magic (e.g Holy, Light Ray/Beam, Smite [vs. Undead/Monsters], etc.)leaning into Str, Def, Res. -Filling in Light Mimic (Traditionally a "Blue Mage") - copies monster abilities. leaning into Def, Res and Dex. Commando (For want of a better name) - Non-Elemental Magic/Boosting Magic (e.g Strength up, Ruin [see FFXIII for reference], Warp/Swap, etc.) leaning into Str, Mag, and Cha. -Filling in Neutral With Elemental Magic being learnable by all, and Fire (generally) being the default starter spell.
